Policy on Human Capital

The TV Asahi Group’s corporate mission is “to take part in building a society that encourages the pursuit of dreams and hopes by providing information and content that are both inspiring and worthy to society.”

Furthermore, under the management plan “START UP TV Asahi Management Plan 2026–2029,” started in FY27/3, the Group positions the strengthening of human capital as a crucial management issue as it aims to create new value and realize sustainable growth.

As the environment surrounding media and people’s values undergo significant changes, it is indispensable to create an organization in which individuals with diverse attributes and areas of expertise can thrive in order to create hit content and generate new businesses. The TV Asahi Group encourages creating value based on what each and every personnel loves, finds interesting, and what they want to change in order to become a “producer group” where each individual takes on challenges by drawing on their strong suit.

As such, the Group will focus on “the strengthening of human capital that create hits,” “the strengthening of human capital base such as revising HR systems (engagement),” and “building a workplace environment where diverse human capital can thrive (DEI).” Measures such as increasing the hiring of those with experience, development of management-level human capital, development and advancement of those with high expertise, and allocating HR to priority areas are carried out, in addition to creating opportunities for reskilling and training sessions that supports diverse career paths so that the motivation and engagement of all personnel is enhanced.

Measures and Goals at TV Asahi Corporation

1. Building Human Capital

・The required human capital and skills for each division will be identified in order to promote the company’s management plan, START UP TV Asahi. As such, a human resources system will be established where each employee is able to fully demonstrate their capability and individuality and autonomously choose their career path.

・Training sessions aimed to provide necessary knowledge and skills to become managers and executives will be held in order to strengthen the pool of candidates for future managerial roles.

・Opportunities to gain knowledge and experience that cannot be attained within the company, i.e. reskilling opportunities, will be provided to support challenges in new business fields that is necessary for innovation.

2. Enhancing Engagement

・In order to maintain a workplace that provides mental and physical security and that promotes inspiration, work styles that accommodate various lifestyles and that enhance the well-being of employees will be adopted.

・Measures in work style transformation, such as increase in paid holidays taken by employees, decrease in overtime work hours, promotion of telework and digital transformation (DX) will be further implemented.

・Building a working environment that balances parental care and work, and encouraging men employees to take parental leave will be carried out. Support systems in returning to work after leave will also be strengthened.

・Employee engagement surveys that targets all employees will be regularly conducted from FY24/3 to identify future issues.

3. Ensuring Diversity (DEI)

・To secure a workforce that is rich in diversity, TV Asahi will practice strategic hiring considering gender and career experience, and design plans to appoint such employees to frontline leadership positions and managerial posts, thereby expanding opportunities for such employees to play active roles and make positive contributions.

・To advance the diversification of values, TV Asahi recognizes the need to increase employees that have the experience of working at external companies. As such, the company will increase the number of its young employees who work for a given time for group companies and third-party corporations.
