The Group takes extreme care in the production of content so that it recognizes public missions and social responsibilities and avoid damaging the honor and human rights of viewers with its broadcasting. To make these undertaking even more concrete, the Group puts together and distributes handbooks and guides regarding program production, holds training as needed and ensures its employees and staff are familiar with the content.

The Group does not reject job candidates for reasons such as race, creed, skin color, gender, religion, language, physical features, assets, origin, or birthplace and aims to ensure a sound workplace environment free of harassment and discrimination.

To support the success of women in the workplace, TV Asahi formulated an action plan and has been improving the working environment.

The Group has in place a system for retired employees to support operations as senior staff members (up to five years) taking advantage of their abundant experience and expertise for TV Asahi Group to grow further and to support their lives after retirement.

As a member of a broadcaster whose duty is to serve the public, it is essential for all staff and employees who work at TV Asahi to be highly mindful of compliance issues. For TV Asahi to continue developing inspiring content, the working environment that promotes such content must be sound and positive. In such context, TV Asahi has established its internal compliance systems.

In order to handle harassment issues, there are three hotlines set up, one each at the Compliance Audit Department, Personnel Division and at a law firm. At the Compliance Audit Department, there are set procedures to swiftly investigate the reported concern, assist the injured party and implement preventive measures.
Moreover, there is an assigned compliance officer in each division and a compliance leader in each department and production team, which enables employees and staff to discuss or report any compliance concerns in a more familiar setting. The Compliance Audit Department holds regular meetings with the compliance officers and compliance leaders to identify and apprehend harassment issues in the workplace and deal with each accordingly.

TV Asahi holds multi-layered compliance trainings sessions to ensure a high compliance awareness among the work force. Especially with regards to harassment, different training sessions for the different levels within the organization are created for all management and employees.
Furthermore, a compliance handbook is published annually and is circulated within the TV Asahi Group. The company also holds compliance seminars and invites guest speakers to talk about current compliance issues, including recent government “work-life reform” initiatives. Anyone who works at TV Asahi is able to participate in the seminars.

TV Asahi also holds regular internal audits regarding harassment issues. Company-wide questionnaires and interviews are conducted to identify any misconduct and such cases are reported to top management together with preventive measures to be taken, which are duly implemented.
