In order to be aware of social missions as a media company centered on TV broadcasting and fulfill its responsibility, the Group is implementing various social contribution activities that contribute to the development of a sound society.

As part of social contributions unique to a TV broadcasting station, TV Asahi has been constantly offering opportunities for integrated media learning such as guided tours for students and TV Asahi Cater Classes, in which its employees visit places as a lecturer to teach classes.

TV Asahi Guided Tours Guided tours for students aimed at information learning. The participants tour broadcasting facilities such as studios and learn how a TV program is produced in a concise manner.

TV Asahi Cater Classes, TV Asahi Cater Classes for grown-ups TV Asahi dispatches its employees with abundant experience in program production to schools and public courses for teaching classes and giving lectures. They explain the job at a TV station, the process of a news program production and media literacy, contributing to information learning and life-time learning support.

As a media company, the Group is involved in activities that contribute highly to public good and interests and focuses on various social contribution activities upon implementation of business activities.

The TV Asahi Welfare Foundation (established in 1977 by parent organization TV Asahi) is the first social welfare corporation established by a commercial broadcaster. The Group is involved in a wide range of welfare activities through the foundation such as child welfare, elderly care, welfare for handicapped and child and maternal welfare. It is an activity TV Asahi has been conducting since 1999 to aid victims of disasters in Japan and abroad. Together with the TV Asahi Welfare Foundation, the fund selects the recipients of the donations and donates funds via the foundation. Numerous people have benevolently donated money to the fund. テレビ朝日・六本木ヒルズ夏祭りSUMMER STATION Since 2014, TV Asahi has been holding “TV Asahi-Roppongi Hills Summer Festival SUMMER STATION” during summer vacation season every year primarily at the TV Asahi headquarters building as well as around the entire Roppongi Hills area and EX Theater.
The booths recreating the world of popular programs unique to TV Asahi, shows with TV heroes, concerts by popular musicians and attractions leveraging advanced technology are featured by the festival and many local residents also come to enjoy it.
The Group also participates in “Roppongi Hills Bon Odori” held by the Roppongi Hills residents’ association with its announcers and characters from popular shows and enliven the city together with local residents.

The Group actively participates in the operation of local public events including various events and activities related to road safety campaigns and fire prevention campaigns and the activities to brighten the society promoted by the Ministry of Justice.
It also participates in cleanup activities held by the residents’ association and neighborhood associations to interact with local residents.

In order for people with hearing difficulties to also enjoy our programs, we prepare subtitles based on speech content. It mainly puts subtitles on shows broadcasted during golden time and also provides subtitles during some of live programs such as news shows.
Further, it also offers audio description to explain the content of shows using the second sound channel for those who are visually impaired and those who cannot watch the TV images. Audio description is provided on programs that can be enjoyed by a wide age group of viewers such as Tetsuko no Heya, Jinsei no Rakuen and Crayon Shin chan.
